Excited About The Future

Happy 2024!
We've been busy behind the scenes, launching some new updates and preparing for some exciting undertakings.

But first...

A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR

Wait, did we sell out? No way! We've hidden a special message within the website for any curious visitor. It's a little something we were motivated to share in line with our Faith Statement. If you're having trouble finding it, just consider the phrase "check under the hood".

META SET GO!

Speaking of "under the hood", an update and verification of our existing meta data has been completed. Every page now has unique information with corresponding meta images. Though we have done updates to this system previously, it was important to ensure the validity of each page with the new pages added. We've also re-rendered a number of the meta images to utilize better compression, which allows for smaller file sizes. Same great images, less loading time!

RE-DESIGNED DIRECTORY

A major source of the new pages currently being added is our updated Directory system. We've divided each section of games (Single-player, Multiplayer, MMO, & Tabletop) into sub-sections searchable by game genre. This will assist visitors in discovering games according to the content they prefer. It also replaces our previous "Play Types" system, which denoted the genre of game with its own listing. With this update, all Directory game listings have been unlinked so as to be re-added in the new format.

Another new addition to the Directory is the Game Features display on select pages. Currently, only games within the MMORPG listing utilize this feature. Common elements of MMORPG's are explained and attributed to the game, if applicable. Since this is only available for MMORPG's at this time, certain Play Tags covered within this system will continue to persist. This will allow non-MMORPG listings to properly reflect these elements.

A RETURN TO ADVENTURE

Gamer Guildhall Adventures will be making a comeback! For those who may not remember, the Adventures project was an experiment to build a MUD-like (Multi-User Dungeon) game experience within the Discord application. This was a separate server from our community server for the purposes of role-playing and gaming within a unique text world. It was halted due to one of the main bots that operated much of the functionality being taken offline. With new bots that have been developed over the years to take its place, this project has found a fresh start.

An additional motivation for renewing this project is our undertaking to create an official TTRPG (Tabletop Role-Playing Game) manual for gamers. The Gamer Guildhall Adventures experience will take place within this game world setting. As we continue development on this endeavor, we'll share periodic updates on the technical aspects involved. We're excited to help the gamer community and potential developers learn more about this process as we delve into it. Conversely, the written manual will be released in whole only upon its completion.

LET'S GET GAMING!

We're hoping to make some big moves this year, starting with what we've already shared. There are additional things in the works that we will be able to detail in future newsletters and announcements. In the meantime, we'll keep adding to the site and expanding upon what we've mentioned. There are still plenty of games to be explored as we continue our journey together through them.

Our adventures in gaming await!
